Our experience shows the first release of a new MacOS might have bugs.

Regarding this previous bug in Sierra,
https://thelightingcontroller.com/viewt ... =10&t=4697
we lost hours (days), trying to fix this problem, before we understood that this was a bug of MacOS Sierra.
In the meantime, we received several complains of users who were asking us to fix that problem.

This was indeed a bad moment for us.

So if possible, please try this new MacOS in a spare computer (not on your "lighting job" computer).

Could you please do the following test ?
- in your software folder, rename the file "efk_usb.dylib" by "efk_usb OLD.dylib"
- download the attached zip file, unzip it, and copy the extracted file "efk_usb.dylib" in your software folder
(the goal is to test a new librarie "efk_usb.dylib")
- run the software and tell us the result

Re: High Sierra crash [fixed]

Postby bkiech » 13 June 2018, 22:48

Hi! I am having a similar issue, where ShowXpress crashes each time I try to import my fixtures with the text file I downloaded from Chauvet (my fixtures are Colorado 1 Quad Zoom VW, which aren't listed in the fixture list in ShowXpress, so I had to find the files on the website and try to import it that way). I also have two Colorado 1 Tri-Tour lights, which are working fine with ShowXpress but they were listed in the fixture list within the program so getting them set up was no problem.

It sounds like this fix might work for me, but I am having 2 problems:

I'm unable to edit the name of the efk_usb.dylib file because it's read-only

And, when I click on the efk_usb.zip file that I downloaded from this thread, nothing happens/it won't open, so I don't know how to drag the new library file into my original ShowXpress folder.

I am running OSX High Sierra Version 10.13.5

Any help would be really appreciated!!!

Your problem is different.
The current software version contains the above fix.
