"In the Name of Love" 3DView lightshow

Postby LightningFM » 09 October 2016, 19:33

Hello everybody!
Here's my virtual lightshow based on "In the Name of Love" by Martin Garrix and Bebe Rexha: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGadQlbUI4Y
The stage is quite big, and features three groups of four spotlights on the ground (left, right and behind the console, which is made with five fixture), sidelights, two groups of fixtures suspended over the stage and much more.
Twenty fixture are located in an inclined structure over the artist (check it in the "making of"); also, the gig features eight LED acting as audience blinder and six strobes.
The color combination I used is blue/red (+purple). I actually tried to give the idea of a heart beating during some parts of the song, I hope the show gives general that impression (according to the sound), but the result is anyway quite good

I realized also a MakingOf video ;)

Enjoy!

As usual, feel free to write me questions, feedbacks or suggestions, I'll be happy to answer! ;)

PS: I'm note sure if post it somewhere in the forum, but here's some live (not timelined) lighting programming practice https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Vh4knYbtdA

Hey dude, awesome video.

Just one question, I saw you move groups of fixtures in the 3d view.
I've been trying to do that for ages now, so how did you do it?

Hello BartKrap, thanks for appreciating the video :)
Moving groups of fixture is quite easy: when you open the "fixture settings" menu, select with shift or control the fixtures to be moved. After you have selected them, you can adjust the position; when the fixtures are at the correct location, I usually close the whole "fixture settings" menu without deselecting them.
Unfortunately looks like the position is the only element that can be changed at the same time in a group (colors, rotation and dimension have to be adjusted manually for each fixture)
Often, when I move groups of fixtures, and I deselect the group before closing the menu all the lights (apart from the first selected) move back to the initial location.

Let me know if it works ;)

Greets
