APC Mini Mk2 - making buttons go blink/pulse/steady

Postby LightningFM » 06 February 2023, 23:33

Hi Support,
I have an APC Mini MK2 too, I've used it in a couple of live shows and so far works great.
Other than customising the RGB appearance of a button (tip for users: other than the AKAI official table in black and white, look for reference tables online with the colours filled in) it is possible to have them either stay on, blink or pulse in various ways by altering the "channel" value in SweetLight.

I've been trying to set the buttons to behave like this (using orange as an example):
- button OFF: colour orange steady
- button ON: colour orange blinking
I can't get it to work as desired; setting the "channel" value in the output line to "blink" will make it blink all the time (regardless of the state of the button); setting the "channel" value with something other than 01 in the Midi In line won't make the button work anymore.

Is there anyone with suggestions on how to work around that?
I'm guessing that having two "Midi Out" options would allow users to set their buttons to blink when on and steady when off.
Midi out ON:
Device || Channel || Data ||..
Midi out OFF:
Device || Channel || Data ||..

Sorry we missed that thread.

Please watch this tuto from Darren Field: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ef1fkmwE6w
It explains how to manage the buttons colors of the APC Mini Mk2.

Hello Support, no worries for the delay.
The linked video doesn't relate to the issue of the post (making buttons go blink/pulse or steady), but rather addresses the colors and other aspects of the MK2. Darren's button in the video are either on and flashing or totally off.
In the video's comments two users seem to address the same point.

How can I make a button stay yellow steady when off and then yellow blinking when on?

(off topic, regarding the color table, here is a better reference table I use with more options than those mentioned in the video: https://imgur.com/a/P7uYi40 - I haven't made this, it's for the APC40 MK2 but works great on the APC Mini MK2)

Hi Flavio,
FYI in the next major software, for each "midi in" received message, it is possible to send several "midi out" messages.
And it is possible to adjust all parameters (device, channel, command, data1, data2) separately for each "midi out" message.
