Controlling via MIDI track in Logic Pro?

Postby Ghostfeeder » 24 May 2018, 00:00

Hey,
I've searched and searched and can't quite get a clear answer on this one:

Is it possible to use Logic Pro X to play my backing track along with a MIDI track that runs my light show? The past few years I have been using the timeline and WAV files, but the issue of the lights being half a second out of sync here and there has been hard to work around. I'm assuming that MIDI would be more accurate.

I'm looking for a more efficient solution, like how you can treat DMXIS as a plug-in in Logic or Ableton or whatever and run it off a MIDI track on the timeline in the DAW. Can that be done with ShowXPress?

Can anyone help?

Thanks!

You can simply send midi notes to trigger buttons in the tab "Live > Buttons".
This gives an accurate sync.
