Version 9 lock out

Upgraded to latest version ahead of a set last weekend. About 3 hours in, the screen on the laptop froze and the software stopped responding to midi inputs. Stopped and started the Showcontrol and no difference. Reboot of Windows solved the issue. No further issues. Nothing abnormal in event log. Any thoughts?

We sugest you to try without midi device, in order to know whether midi is the problem or not.

I ran it for almost 5 hours today with the MIDI device attached...... No problem.

Don't you just hate intermittent problems. :cry:

Yes intermittent problem is the most difficult to fix. Anyway, we think that if there was a bug in our software, you should point it at least one time during 5 hours.
We think more about an electrical problem. We suggest you self powered USB hubs. This is quite cheap and this may help.

Please use also the "fix" file.
It fixes also some problems with midi.

Sadly, despite the fix file, I used the system again this last weekend and had a repeat performance of the problem. I was running it on a touch screen laptop. The midi controller was still lit up, but not responding. Touch was also unresponsive within show control but was still working in Windows. I disconnected the midi controller, but it made no difference. Closed Showcontrol but it then would not reload. I then used Task Manager to see what was going on, but Showcontrol or anything like was not running. I had nothing else running on the laptop, but was able to load Chrome and Outlook but still Showcontrol would not load. Rebooting Windows again solved the issue. I would be helpful to know what processes to look for in Task Manager.

Is there anything else I should be looking for please? Anything else you need to assist you to identify the problem?

I do not expect to be using the system again for an event for a couple of months.
