Transferring ShowXpress lightshow onto new laptop

Postby lightingnewb » 30 March 2018, 16:27

Hi. I want to transfer a ShowXpress lightshow onto a new (Windows) laptop but am not exactly sure how to do that. I have 4 swarms and 2 CorePARs running on a ShowXpress 512 box hooked up to a Korg NanoPad controller. Are there any video tutorials that show how to do this? Or can somebody please give me a quick tutorial? I assume the steps are something like the following-

1) Download ShowXpress onto the new laptop (do I need to download a separate driver as well?)
2) Install ShowXpress (and do something with the driver?)
3) Export the lightshow on the old laptop
4) Copy the lightshow onto the new laptop
5) Import the lightshow into ShowXpress
6) Switch the cables for the Showxpress box and the NanoPad controller to the new laptop

Does that sound about right? I just wanna make sure I don't f this up. Thanks for your help!!

Sounds right to me, don't forget the drivers for the NanoPad if needed (don't know).

Luc, thanks for your reply. Do you know how the drivers work? ie Do I need a certain driver?

You don't need drivers for it. It should work right away. (Don't forget to allow midi devices on your new laptop)
