TCP/IP Listen Error + No fixtures in 3D [fixed]

Postby SWFL LD » 20 October 2017, 17:09

Hello.
Since updating to v 8.2.24 I am again seeing the TCP/IP Error message at startup.
Please don't refer your response to: https://thelightingcontroller.com/viewt ... =75&t=3708
I have tried everything in that post to solve the problem to no avail.
I have been using this software for over 10yrs and have engineered many events and installed it in more than 10 nightclubs.
My issue is there are no fixtures seen in 3D and therefore cannot program events in advance.
I've disabled the firewall, all anti virus and remote vpn software.
I've checked all remaining programs for IP conflicts.
I've un-installed and re-installed ShowXpress for windows and re-patched the fixtures from scratch twice.
I am out of ideas on how to solve this problem and running out of time to program for a large weekend event starring national talent.
Your help is appreciated.

In the source code of our software, there is function which asks to the OS: "can i open a TCP communication with the following IP at the specified port ?".
The know reasons of a problem are listed here: https://thelightingcontroller.com/viewt ... =75&t=3708
May be you found a new one (?)
In any case, there is something in your computer which makes the OS to answer "no".

Hi again and thank you for your quick response.
I found the problem.
The IP address for the program was set to: 192.168.1.2
I use VNC to connect my laptop pc to my desktop pc so I may edit scenes from the stage.
There was a direct IP conflict between the 2 programs.
I used the reset button in preferences>network to restore the IP to default.
Problem solved.
Thanks again.
