Pallets on several fixtures

Postby Alpho » 26 October 2015, 05:55

Hello,

This is my first post in the forum! hooray! I've been using ShowXpress for a few years now, and with Version 8 I was wondering if there was a way to use a pallet on several fixtures? For example, I have 6 blinder lights on my truss bridge, each on a different address. I want to program some colors for the first light and apply them to the rest of the lights quickly instead of having to program the colors for each fixture which can be VERY time consuming. I've noticed that most of my time I spend programing a show, sadly, is creating colors and things repetitively for the same fixture type but different addresses.

Would love to have this feature on here =) I've seen it done on things like Avolite consoles.

Thanks!
Alpho

Please read this post: viewtopic.php?f=80&t=3969
The demo lightshow uses pallets for pan/tilt ; you can do same with colors.
And fixtures dmx addresses can be changed without damaging the lightshow.

So after reading that link from support I come to conclusion that the pallets are for a set light fixture(s) not for the characteristics. Say like Alpho mentioned, to apply the same characteristics to a different fixture.

We would like to be able to say apply "red led on" to fixture Red1 fixture.

Yes, pallets are for fixtures.

BTW, it seems the words "pallets based" seems to bring misunderstanding. For the pro lights people (with native English language), could you please tell us the exact words we have to use for "pallets for fixtures" and "pallets for characteristics" ?

Hi
I would think changing it to 'presets for steps' would be less confusing
If it were pallets they could be used in live
But this is my opinion
