Timeline file corrupt after saving without stopping timeline

I've ran into an issue i can consistently recreate. If I'm working on a timeline and the playhead is pauzed, not stopped, the save buttons are greyed out, but you can still save using the ctrl + s command.
This causes the file to be corrupt and you lose all your work if you close the program without proper saving.
Can anyone confirm this is the case in version 9.2.38
