[Windows] - How to switch on "auto BPM" in V9 ?

Postby ShowXpressguy200 » 21 January 2020, 23:29

How do I get AutoBPM feature back on version 9.23? I read that this feature was hidden and you can get it back by doing the step below but I tried this and the feature is still missing.

I even tried to downgrade the software, but the newer V9 device drivers refused to uninstall and kept coming back even after checking the box to remove the driver from device manager.

- open the file, "../YourLightshow/Live/live.ini"
- find the section "[live]"
- add the line "auto_bpm_on = yes" in that section

Click on the button with the "microphone" icon which is close to the "freeze / dmx / 3D" buttons.

The microphone was enabled but the Auto BPM option is still missing when trying to add it to scene and does not display on the live screen.

Do you see the audio signal moving in the "Audio Spectrum" window of V9 ?
If not, do you see the audio signal moving in the previous version of the software that you were using before, in the same computer ?
(it is possible to install both software versions in the same system)

Yes, I can see the audio in the spectrum analyzer which means the microphone is working and audio is reaching ShowXpress, but the auto bpm is still missing from the live page and a don’t see it in speed properties. Is it possible it is gone for good after version 9.19? Has anyone ever actually got this back in the latest 9.23?

Here you go....

Please look over my live config to see if this is correct? You can see its missing from my speed properties and also on the Live Page panel. I am hoping to stay with the latest release if possible, and this Auto BPM feature is perfect in non critical venues.

The real questions is has anyone been able to get the Auto BPM feature back in version 9.23 or later, or has it been permanently removed?

Please confirm the scene is a Steps scene.
FYI, Beat/BPM is not possible only with Generator&Pixels scene.

Yes, it is a Step scene and this the same scene that was working in version 8.

Can you please answer the question... have you or anyone else got the Auto BPM to work with the latest versions of the software? 9.23 or above? If you are a Chauvet Showxpress software developer please chime in. Unless I am missing a step to get this back it sure looks like the feature is missing from the speed properties and the GUI on the Live tab.

It works well here.
"Auto BPM" in V8 is now called "Beat" in V9.
Please select "Beat" and you should see the steps moving with the audio signal.
