Faders - problem and multi-universe midi

Postby pattech » 19 November 2018, 20:56

Hi,
I got a problem with the faders. I have Robe 600E spots which is using 2 channels for dimmer (first the actual dimmer channel, second a dimmer-fine channel)
When I assign a group of spots the dimmerchannel to a fader, it doesn't work. When I look at the dmx-levels, they stay down.
I tested the same on another computer just for testing and looking in 3D to see what happens. It does the same, strangely.
When I go in editor - steps with 3D enabled, it shows me the dimmer correctly. Going into live with 3D enabled, the fader does nothing.
What can be wrong ?

I know i did fix this with using a midi-controller and assigning the dimmer-channels to that slider (using patch for dmx/midi and assigning the channels to a midi-slider), but now I have to do a show with more fixtures and I'm using 4 universes.
So here comes the next question : is it possible to use this way to assign the channels in another universe ? I tested it, but the maximum value is 512, so I can't add this number for having the dimmer-channels in the second universe. How can I do this ?

If you follow this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vX3cHwX_Qsk
you will be able to patch to any fixture of any universe.
