Holding Flash Buttons with mouse click (and release)

Postby ryvanz » 29 July 2015, 00:41

I just downloaded the newest version of ShowXpress and it's pretty good, but one feature that I found handy with the older version doesn't seem to work with this new one.

With the older version in Live, when I was testing new scenes I was able to hold down the flash buttons with my mouse by clicking (and holding the click) and sliding the cursor to outside of the button's edge and then releasing the click. Although it was a flash button, it would act as if it were being held down by a key. I could disengage the flash by clicking the button again. Unfortunately this feature no longer seems to exist.

There is something called the "Hold" button, but I haven't been able to figure it out. Does this do the same function that I've described?

Thanks in advance!

On further inspection, it seems that the hold button is only for the non-flash buttons.

Is there any way to engage several flash buttons simultaneously with the mouse?

I have hundreds of buttons and they're all already assigned to specific midi notes or CCs to be triggered from a sequencer so I'm not sure if midi is feasible.

How do I set up a hot key for this software?

I guess using the keyboard letter keys is an alright option for now.

How do I use the Macro buttons? The manual isn't very clear about that? :/

Thanks very much for the input.

A macro is created in the live tab. It can trigger multible scenes on different pages. click to the right where it says what page you selected. Same place where you add a scene. Create macro and it will make a macro trigger for all the scenes that where Enabled when you made it. Example you have a red scene selected and a chase scene selected create macro and it will trigger both scenes on and off. You can assign them to midi or keyboard keys upper and lower case. And Can make it a flash macro.
