Midi Trigger Delay in Live

I've used midi triggers with Live scenes/macros in the past with zero issue, so I'm quite confused about what it happening currently. When I hook a simple MIDI keyboard up to the computer via USB cable and attempt to trigger scenes via MIDI, there is a variable delay prior to the scene activating. Sometimes the scene will activate quickly, while other times it's delayed as much as 2-3 seconds. It seems very random. I've tried two different midi controllers, 3 USB cables and 2 different Macs, one of which is on the newest OS and the second that is on 10.8.4. I've also tested the same MIDI keyboard and USB cable in Ableton Live and there is no delay when triggering keyboard sounds. I believe I've narrowed it down to the Live software, and I'm guessing there is a setting somewhere I'm missing. Any ideas?
