RGB/CMY for fixture with color wheel (nearest collor)

Postby DeeStage » 17 August 2019, 19:38

Hey, is it possible to add a feature where we are able to change the color of fixtures with color wheel in RGB/CMY mode?

For instance:
Select an RGB LED Par Can and a movinghead with color wheel.
Open steps editor and open the RGB/CMY color palette.

Click on any color you want...

The RGB LED will set the color.
The Movinghead will set his color to the nearest possiblecColor.

For instance:
I click on light blue section...
The LED shows this color.
The movinghead automatically sets the color wheel to cyan, because its the color wich is the closest to it

Noted, but looks not easy.
BTW, any video showing that (with another software) may help us for a better understanding.

Hi Support,

I was actually thinking of requesting something similar, however rather than using an RGB wheel, it may be easier to select from a tray of pallette colours.

Chamsys, Hog and Elation M1 all have a system like this. Selecting any number of different fixtures (RGB, cmy, colour wheel, etc) then clicking the "orange" button will turn all the fixtures orange, regardless of what kind of fixture they are (as long as the colour wheel has orange in it of course)

Here's an older video of this being used in Chamsys. Skip to about 3 mins

Thank you for the video (but not easy to understand).

Anyway, asking for a specific color, and doing nothing when the color is not existing, makes more sense.
While asking for any RGB color, and selecting the closest available color, may give unexpected results.
