Crash when Patching fixture [fixed]

Happens with version 8.2.18 and 8.2.21 on Mac OS Sierra 10.12.4
TheLightingController crashes when creating new fixture (for example 'Dimmer' with 1 channel and trying to patch it on address 1)

Edit: this also happens when just trying to patch an existing fixture (subject of this topic changed)

I have the exact same problem. I cannot patch any fixtures to even begin a light show, which means that I cannot send you a file with the show on it. I tried patching a fixture to dmx ch 1 and then later tried patching to ch10. Everytime the program just closes down. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software many times. I tried it without the dmx512 attached to the mac and with it connected as well. I'm running Mac mini (mid 2011), 2.5ghz Intel Core i5, 4gb 1333mhz ddr3 ram with El Capitan 10.11.6. I get it to work on my macbook pro with no problems what so ever. Oh, and I installed the newest version of the program 8.2.18 (2017 March, 13).

Please do this:
- find the folder "TheLightingController" in your system (it is in the "home directory")
- make a zip file of this complete folder
- post it (or send it)

It seems like I solved the problem. I did not the correct permissions set up. I changed the permissions of the user directory, as well as the other files in that directory to read and write and the Lighting Controller did not close when patching fixtures.

Thank you for the feedback.

So it looks like our software crashes, when it does not have full access to the lightshow files (protected by the OS).
Noted in our ToDo list ; we will check that.
