Problem with Show Xpress Driver using USB 3.0

Postby Puchy256 » 19 December 2012, 12:11

Hi, I have the Show Xpress 512 and I have two laptops. One of the laptops is a HP Vista 7 64 bits I5 and the USB ports are 2.0. On this laptop I've been able to communicate with the Xpress 512 and it works fine. The other laptop is ASUS Vista 7 64 bits I7 but the USB ports are 3.0. On this laptop I've not been able to communicate with the Xpress 512. I know that I've installed the drivers properly and I followed the instructions that the Chauvet support team gave me over the phone. Is there a difference in the driver when the USB port is 2.0 versus 3.0?
Thank you

Current driver files are suitable for USB2&3.
USB3 is supposed to support "older USB version" interfaces.

I tried installing the drivers once more as instructed and now I get the message: "There is one not compatible interface. Please remove it". What is your recommendation?

We made several tests, and there is a chance that we found the problem of these usb3.0 ports.
We made a workaround, in our source code.

Please try this:
1. open your software folder (something like "../YourSoftware/")
2. rename the file "efk_usb.dll" by "efk_usb_original.dll"
3. copy this file http://download.thelightingcontroller.c ... fk_usb.dll , in the software folder.
In other words, we ask you to rename the existing DLL file, and to use a new one, which should fix the usb3.0 problem.

And please tell us if it works now.
