hello,

I've here a sweetlight d512. It works fine on almost all computers and laptops.

But het wont work on my laptop.
If i start controlboard it takes a while and then the next message appears:
This is not one compatible interface. Please remove it.

There was a post about that message, but the fix wont work.

The laptop is a dell vostro 3460.

The laptop only has usb3.0 ports. Maybe is that the problem?
Other wise i wouldn't know.

Greet,

Ruben Rohaan

If i start control board, it says there isn't a universe

May be your interface is brocken.
We suggest you to try on another computer. If still problem, please return the interface to your retailer for maintenance service.

From my experience with computers and operating systems, these errors occur from the dmx device being connected to the computer before the software is installed. Windows then assigns a driver for it (incorrect one) and when the software is installed, it thinks the driver has been installed.
To solve the problem, remove dmx units dmx cable, remove the driver from windows, uninstall the software.
Restart the pc, install the software, then connect dmx device and the correct driver should load.

We made several tests, and there is a chance that we found the problem of these usb3.0 ports.
We made a workaround, in our source code.

Please try this:
1. open your software folder (something like "../YourSoftware/")
2. rename the file "efk_usb.dll" by "efk_usb_original.dll"
3. copy this file http://download.thelightingcontroller.c ... fk_usb.dll , in the software folder.
In other words, we ask you to rename the existing DLL file, and to use a new one, which should fix the usb3.0 problem.

And please tell us if it works now.
