Problems Connecting

Recently downloaded the app for my HTC and it wont connect.
Ive double checked all the settings within "Preferences" in accordance to what was advised on the thread "Android Settings"
I just keeps saying "Connecting" and then eventually says its cant connect and ask's me if i wish to retry or cancel!
Anybody able to shed any light on the situation?
