Can i change the duration of a scene ?

Hello,
How do I change the duration of a scene in the time line? For example, I have a figure 8 that I want to play for the first few seconds of a song, then I want to change to a blue wash for the next few seconds. Is this something that can be controlled in live, or do I need to set the duration in editor? I'm sorry if this seems like a basic question, but I'm trying to figure out how the program can best fit my show and the instructions are vague.

- scene duration can be set exclusively in Editor
- it is possible to change the scene speed in Live (Buttons & Timeline)
- in Live, the scenes are played in loop
