High-End - Technobeam

Postby tlight » 31 January 2013, 07:58

I am in need of a profile for the High-End Technobeam, more specifically the IRIS mode for this fixture. It would also be beneficial to have the non IRIS version added.

IRIS profile - http://www.highend.com/support/disconti ... is_dmx.asp
Non IRIS profile - http://www.highend.com/support/disconti ... am_dmx.asp

Thanks in advance,

I was just working on creating this fixture myself when I figured i'd search to see if it was already done.

My question is, why were the colors not used with the stock colors given in the software? This is easily modifiable, just trying to understand why.

Also, can we create customer gobos?

thanks

Why were the colors not used with the stock colors given in the software ?

Because the manufacturer does not specify them. We read only "color 1", "color 2", ...

Can we create customer gobos ?

Yes you can.

User Manual:
http://www.highend.com/pub/products/aut ... nobeam.pdf
Page B-2

Colors:
1 Open
2 Pink
3 Aqua
4 Dark Magenta
5 Green
6 Amber
7 Yellow
8 Dark blue
9 Red
10 Indigo
11 Orange
12 Light blue
13 CTO ?? not sure what this is

My updates to the supplied Technobeam file:
Open,0,23 Pink,24,31 Turquoise,32,39 Magenta,40,47 Green,48,55 Amber,56,63 Yellow,64,71 Dark_Blue,72,79 Red,80,87 Indigo,88,95 Orange,96,103 Light_Blue,104,111 CTO,112,127

I haven't done the half colors yet, but it doesn't look like they are supported as of now. Will look into making these.

Thanks Josh! I'd love a copy of the corrected colors profile. I was also wondering about the lack of colors in the profile that support created for for this fixture. I read the reference to the colors in the manual too, but they're not stated in the DMX chart that support lilkely used to create the profile. Thanks for your diligence and post any updates you make along the way. It would be awesome to have the split colors represented correctly!

One other thing. The CTO color is actually a filter. It stands for Color Temperature Orange. Not to get techincal, but it is utilized to "correct" the color of the bulb's output. This fixture's bulb has a color temp of 8500 K, which is more on the blue side than yellow. The filter will "correct" the bulb's output to the output of other bulbs like tungsten or halogen, which are less blue that this fixture's bulb. I use the filter whenever shining white light at a person. This makes their appearence more realistic than what the blueish output does. I hope this helps.

Tlight:
Thanks for the explanation on CTO, that makes sense now.

Thanks for updating the files for everyones use.

I will work on getting split colors into the software along with an updated config file. I am also going to find the closest gobo's i can from stock and/or create my own from scratch. Will post those here when I am done. I want to have this as close to as perfect as possible when designing shows with these lights.

On a side note: I've only been using the software and 3d viewer as of now. But I just ordered the DMX512 for my MAC and cannot wait to get it here and connected up. REALLY looking forward to using the LIVE app on my phone or iPad.
