Questions about standalone features

Postby directsound » 26 January 2010, 07:19

I found where and how to load a scene to the remote but
1- how do you program the remote
2= if you press play will it come on in the 3d viewer
3-what is a zone
4- Start? I see how to turn on the start with the check box but what or when is something starting
and what is going to start?

thanks

Once the scenes have been uploaded into Remote and when ControlBoard is closed (standalone mode), if you press button#1 of the remote controller, you will run scene#1 ; if you press button#2, you will run scene#2 ; ...

There could be only one running scene into a specific zone:
- if you press button#1 to start scene#1 zone#1, scene#1 is running
- then, if you press button#2 to start scene#2 zone#1, scene#1 is switched off and scene#2 is running
It is like a "solo button" page in Live application.

When "Start" option is checked, the scene automatically starts when the interface is switched on.

StandAlone mode is when ControlBoard does not communicate with the interface, whatever is the power (usb or external adaptor). So yes, you can leave it hooked to bus power. The interface knows the IR codes. It is not possible to change them. The interface works exclusively with "Philips" IR code (rc5), which is the most wellknown IR code that all universal IR remote controllers have. Here are some supposed compatible remote controllers:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/RCA+-+3-Dev ... Id=7016748
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/RCA+-+Unive ... Id=4606466
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/RCA+-+5-Dev ... Id=9405976
We say "supposed" because we do not have them and we did not find their manual, but we are 95% sure they are compatible.
