The Lighting Controller

Hi,

I am having a problem with my DMX Cable with my XP 64-bit computer.
The cable works fine most of the time but then my fixture (EVL Prospot 250) randomly loses DMX signal, usually after or just before running a cue.

A simple restart of the SweelLight software fixes this but I can't be spending my time restarting the software during a show as I have to concentrate on the presets on the actual console.

I have the drivers installed (1.03) and I have checked all the hardware (DMX cable from fixture to computer, the fixture itself, etc.)

What could this problem be?

First thing to do is to use the most recent software (V6.25 or V6.26) (we can not help with older versions).
Then, please tell us if the green led of interface Cable stops flashing or not.
If it stops flashing, you can make the same test without any light plugged to the Cable.

I already have V6.25.

My cable has no lights on it, well, I haven't seen any lights on it while using it.

The interface Cable is able to drive the lighting effects, and it has no flashing green led
May be dmx output is ok, and green led is dead.
Anyway the most important is the dmx output works.

Your problem might be a "ground loop" problem. Please read this: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=468

Can you recommend a cheap opto-isolator I can use?
The ones I have seen are about $200 -$300.
