Spot Duo Fixtures + Sweetlight usb

Postby fabio1605 » 25 November 2015, 19:32

Hi

just purchased a sweetlight USB dongle that has a maximum of 10 fixtures.

Now the intimidation spot duo has this problem with having to set up multiple fixtures to get the heads to work seppeartly, does this not affect my limitation

I have 4 spot DUO's. If I have sepperated all the fixtures (i.e creating dummy fixtures for the heads) would I not end up using nearly 8 of my 10 fixtures?? I needed room for 4 more fixtures so I am a bit stuck here I feel jeopardised by this workaround

Yes, the 4 "two heads" fixtures, declared as 8 fixtures, mean only 2 remaining free fixtures, with interface Cable.

Please note that V8 (still in Alpha version) is able to manage such "two heads" fixture as one single fixture.

@ Fabio,
There is nothing to stop you making one fixture with all 4 units channels in them, and then creating 8 fixtures with addressese over 100.
The 3D view does not work when the dongle is attached, but you will still be able to see a full 3D view of the software.

Fabio,
The cable dongle will only allow 10 fixtures and dmx 001 to 100.
For a simple example, you can have 25 4 channel parcans, which can be created by profiles which have 12 channels (ie 3 can per fixture).
As the software can only show one beam at a time, I then create 25 4 channel fixtures from dmx 101 onwards.
You then patch 1=1+101; 2=2+102 etc, and your 3D view will be fully functional.
