3dview Fixtures Greyed out

Postby MarkH » 17 March 2018, 03:45

I updated to the new version of ShowExpress (8.2.28). Since the upgrade, the 3Dview does not work for fixtures. It still shows my objects. I tried my show as well as the new demo show that came with ShowExpress 8 and both behave similarly. Any suggestions on how to fix it?

I had the same issue,
I opened only the port #7347 with the name "TheLightingController" but the fixtures greyed out,
I opened all ports but the fixtures greyed out,
I disabled windows firewall but the fixtures greyed out too,
And i found the problem: The IP local address was false in preferences, I changed the IP local address with the good numbers.

Thank you for this feedback.
That would be great if we could understand.
Could you please tell us more ?

In the window "Preferences", tab "Network", the IP for the software is by default "127.0.0.1".
So it was not working with this IP ?

If yes, please tell us what IP you entered.

And please tell us also what was written below in "Local IP's".

Please confirm also that the main program and the 3DView program are both running on same computer.

192.168.0.41 was the IP in tab "Network" (I was seeing TCP/IP Error message at startup)
Local IP's was 169.254.226.99,
I changed the IP by the local IP's (169.254.226.99) and the software worked good.

I test now the IP "127.0.0.1" and the software works good too (I didn't have this information).
Thanks for this feedback and I advise you to add this default IP information in the topic https://thelightingcontroller.com/viewt ... =13&t=5529

I confirm that main program and the 3DView program are both running on same computer.

Please note that the default IP (at first software installation) is "127.0.0.1".
This means that a human person changed it by certainly the real IP of the computer on that time, and then you changed the server for instance (which means new real IP).
