How can I make visible split color in 3d view?

This could be possible by replacing the channel "color" by the channel "gobo", with "dual color" textures as gobo.

Wondering if a split colour has been achieved?

The fixture file has a 'colour' line as well as a 'gobo' line

Could I drop maybe a solid colour graphic as a PNG file to emulate a colour in the 'colour' line instead of the wording 'blue' 'white' etc.
Then create a split colour PNG file?

Not sure this will work as looks like the 'colour' section is looking for word reference and not graphical elements.
