Copy Selected Channels - Paste To All Steps Not Working

Postby alanbk » 14 February 2013, 04:12

Windows Version 6.30. I have a editor scene with 15 steps. I added a fixture, a mayhem, starting address 62, with 7 channels, channles 62-68 . I want to set channels 65 and 66 to 70 for all steps in the scene.

1 - Open up scene in editor. Working in All Channels Editor View. Select step 1. Channels 1-61 are already programmed. Channels 62-68 (the new fixture), are null, have no value.
2 - Set channels 65 and 66 to the value of 70. Channels 62,63,64,67,68 are still null, have no value.
3- Select channels 65 and 66, they both show red check marks
4 - Right click and selet "Copy Selected Channels"
5- Right click again, (channels 65 and and 66 still selected), and select "Paste On All steps"
6- After paste channels 65 and 66 are no longer selected. In step 1, channels 65 and 66 still have a value of 70, but now channel 67 alos has a value of 70. Looking at the steps 2 -15, channels 65, 66, and 67 now have a value of 0.

No matter what I try I can't seem to get paste to all steps to work, even when just tyring to use "Copy Channel" and "Paste On All Steps".

Am I doing something wrong? Plesae Help. It would make programming scenes so much easier if I could get this to work. Thanks for your time.

Please check this:

- Select channels 65 and 66, they both show red check marks
- Right click and selet "Copy Selected Channels"
- put the mouse cursor over the first channel where you want to execute the paste action
- Right click again, (channels 65 and and 66 still selected), and select "Paste On All steps"

It works here (checked with software version 6.32).

I followed your steps EXACTLY, and again after pasting channels 65 and 66 were no longer selected and the values did not copy onto the other steps.

After Selecting and copying as specified, I placed the mouse over channel 65, (Channels 65 and 66 still selected)and selected Paste To All Steps (Still on step 1). After pasting, channels 65 and 66 were no longer selected, and the values did not copy to the other steps for channels 65 and 66.

I found out that if I went to step 2, put the mouse over channel 65 and selected "Paste on this channel Only", that did work, both channels were copied I then proceeded to steps 3-15 and did the same, the values were copied.

So why is Paste To All Steps NOT WOrking>

THe OS is WIndows 7 Professional 64 bit? Again the software version is 6.30. Was this a problem in 6.30? Are you from Cauvet Support? Do you have the capaiblity to do a web ex or online support session? If you don't, I do on this end.

Thanks,

Alan

We can not check on version 6.30.
We suggest you to try with current version 6.32.

I was trying to figure out the same thing. It turns out it is not the "PASTE TO ALL STEPS" that you want. You actually need to setup the fixtures and channels that you want to have pasted over the steps. Check them all (hold cntrl and select them), then right click on "COPY SELECTED CHANNELS". Afterward, right click again on the first channel you have selected and now choose "SET VALUE OF SELECTED CHANNELS ON ALL STEPS".
