"no loop" scene

Postby LiteTrix » 21 May 2012, 20:26

I want to know how to make the last step in the scene stop and not go back to the fist step in the sequence. Is something like this possible? If so how do I do it? I basically want to avoid my lights from flicking off really quick because its at the end of the sequence. It appears that the maximum length of a sequence is 59 minutes but if I could somehow make the last step in the sequence stop that would be great. Thanks for any help in advance!

Re: Help with LED's and the editor

UPDATE: I just read in another thread that I can put a scene into LIVE and and hit "no loop" and it should not loop the scene and therefore keep the LED constantly on but it doesn't seem to be working. Is there something I'm missing? Thanks a lot!!!!

"no loop" switches off the scene.

When a scene has only one step, the result is like "no loop".
When a scene has more than one step, it loops.

We see two solutions:
- you add several long steps, in order the scene never has the time to loop
- you use timelines

That sounds like a good option but I'm pretty sure a scene can only be a total of like 59 minutes or so. Isn't this correct? Because In the editor that is the maximum length I can make a scene. I'm looking for make a scene possibly up to three hours long so I can walk away and not have the lights flick off and restart the scene. Thanks for the reply!!!!

One step could be 59mn (never tested).
So three '59mn' steps at the end of the scene can avoid the loop, for almost 3 hours.

That's pretty much what I was looking to do but it appears that the total scene length (not each step) can be a maximum of 59 minutes or so. I haven't been able to figure out how to get a total length longer than 59 minutes. If you know how to get it longer or have any ideas on what might be causing this I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for the quick reply!!!

The total length calculation is corrupted when more than 59mn (small bug).
But the real length should be the sum of all steps lengths.

Could you please elaborate? Basically what your saying is that the "total time" might say 59 but that's not really true and the true time only applies to the indvidual steps, correct? Also is there any Maximum time a scene could be? Could I make it 5 hours if I really wanted to? Thanks again!!!!

Yes, it is only a "display limitation" of the total time in Editor. A scene duration is basically not limited.

I am have made a scene like that for my church main lights and i added several 59 minute scenes at end. But 59 minutes later it restarts, pretty embarrassing. So trying to understand the above posts, is this a bug and it is supposed to sum all the amounts and i can have a three hour scene.
