MacOS Catalina [done]

Postby support » 20 September 2019, 14:56

Like a bunch of software, our software does not work presently under Catalina.
Even the famous software "Adobe Photoshop" does not work under catalina !
Please do not install Catalina until we give the green light.

Interesting remark:
If you download the DMG file from your Catalina computer and you install it, the app will not open correctly.
If you download the DMG file from another OS (Linux or Windows for instance) and you copy/paste the file to your Catalina computer, the app will open correctly.

In the meantime, as a workaround, you can install the last fix file (recommended anyway) and then manually accept the execution of the files from "Security and Privacy" in "System Preferences"

The executable files from the master software (the DMG file) do not work.
But the same files from a ZIP work.

So please do this:
- download this file: http://download.thelightingcontroller.c ... talina.zip
- extract the files from the ZIP and copy them into your folder software

We are still trying to understand why Catalina is ok with the files from the ZIP and not from the DMG.

We have updated the software download links here for MacOS only: https://thelightingcontroller.com/viewt ... f=85&t=114
with a new software version which works here with our Catalina OS.

Please try it (do not add the fix file), and if possible, please post a screenshot of the first warning message when you open the application TheLightingController (the warning message which says "this application comes from internet ...").

Many thanks!!!
Now it works, but there is something I don't understand.
The screencontrol doesn't work anymore.
I mean: lights are ok, audio is ok, but the video is not projected anymore on the beamer.

Can you please help me?

Thank you for your feedback.

Regarding the video file, please keep in mind that our software does not play & decode the media file by itself ; it just asks the new OS to play it. So there is a good chance that the OS has some problems to play the file. We suggest you to try with another format for the video file.

Are you saying .mov files are no more supported by Mac? I don’t think it is a OS problem. I launched the same file using QuickTime and other players and it is displayed.
Could it be a problem of Screencontrol that it is no more compatible with Catalina? Which is the player called by Showxpress to have the video played?
Many thanks for your support
