Auto bpm

I believe the auto bpm was removed from the SX mac version as it was deemed "not as accurate". However this feature is required to use with the virtual dj plug in. I was not aware of this when deciding to go with SX. Is there a valid reason for removing it as I don't see how you can get more accurate then getting the bpm directly from VDJ?

Was this removed in preparation for a partnership with serato and the soundswitch? Is there any workaround for getting a bpm into SX now?

The "auto bpm" is to analyse the music played by the computer, in order to try to sort its bpm.
It has nothing to do with Virtual DJ.

Fair enough, but when I use the virtual dj plug on a pc it sends the bpm to SX and works flawlessly when I engage auto bpm. Is there another way to bring the bpm into SX from an outside source?

No there is no other way.
FYI, the "manual BPM" is another solution. Just tap the space bar a few times, and the bpm in our software will be ok for the whole song.

Why was the auto bpm removed from the mac version only? And why would it be removed at all? Doesn't make sense why useable functionality, and one that automates a process was removed at all.....

Any updates in why auto bpm was removed?

Where did you see that this feature has been removed ?

Maybe not removed, never added is more accurate. Unless I'm just missing something....

Seems odd not to implement because "our experience says users prefer to use manual BPM, for higher accuracy." Why include it with the pc version then?

We tried the "real time BPM analyse" under Windows (the "sound card" code is completly different than for MacOS), but the result is not accurate enough.
So we stopped working on this.

Appreciate the additional color.

In the case where I am importing a beat grid (bpm) into SX, the accuracy of an internal mic is not relevant. Is there anyway you can incorporate a "import bpm from external source" feature?

Id be happy to help facilitate a discussion between SX and virtual dj if you needed any technical info in the import...
