mac midi issue [fixed]

hopefully the great minds here can solve my issue...

i am on a MBPro laptop, 10.6.8 software, set up my virtual midi port per the instructions i found online and tested my midi controller korg nano kontrol 2 and akai lpd8 and the lpd8 works fine, not so much on the korg... in xpress i have right clicked on the control page and selected the midi port from my setup on the mac system prefs. now once i get to trying to get a button on the live program i right click and select trigger, then choose the midi... i cannot get any response at all when trying to do the learn option or even trying to do it manually. btw i am using xpress 6.32

any help please.
